Michael DeBlis, Esq.
Trial Lawyer & Professionally Trained Actor
Michael is a trial lawyer who pours his heart and soul into fighting for his clients. He is known for his creativity, his charismatic personality, and his unyielding dedication to his clients.
As a former public defender, Michael has spent nearly eight years cutting his teeth on some of the most serious felony cases to pass through the Superior courts of New Jersey.
He is a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College (NCDC), where he trained under some of the best-known criminal defense attorneys in the country. Michael combines a unique blend of left-brain thinking with right-brain artistry.
While he didn’t know it at the time, Michael’s experience at NCDC was to lead him on a journey of self-exploration that helped him to discover a passion for the theater. He has pursued that passion by becoming a member of oneof New York’s finest acting conservatories.
Along the way, he began to see how the tools and techniques of actors could be used in the courtroom to bring the human element to the jury and to help lawyers connect with jurors on an emotional level. Michael has taken this knowledge and shared it with other attorneys at conferences and on-line events. This has made him a highly sought-after speaker by trial lawyer organizations throughout the country.
Michael is a prolific writer and a passionate blogger. He has written articles that have appeared in leading tax journals such as CCH Journal of Tax Practice and Procedure, Global Tax Weekly, and ABA News Quarterly. He has also been featured on the media affiliates of several major media networks, including NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox, and CNN.
Michael is a living example of the tremendous power that comes from combining passion, preparation, persuasion, and positive communication in the courtroom. His courage and relentless work ethic have earned him a reputation as a zealous advocate and one of New Jersey’s rising stars of the legal profession.
